BMW 5 Series Sedan (2000 – 2003)

The last 5-Series designed before BMW's controversial styling revolution, the E39 balanced athletic capability with executive restraint. It pioneered the "angel eye" headlights, which became BMW's calling card shortly thereafter, while also having proportions that have aged like a fine wine. The last of the analog BMWs, it represents the sweet spot before complexity overshadowed connection. No wonder it's become a cult classic—it's from when BMW built driver's cars that happened to be luxurious, not vice versa.
