Japan's golden era swan song, the MkIV Supra transcended automotive status to become cultural mythology. The 2JZ engine's ridiculous durability created a culture where "1000 horsepower" became casual conversation among teens who'd never even held a driver's license. The cockpit-like interior and sculpted exterior became immortalized through video games and films, creating a following that borders on religious. No Toyota since has been able to have quite the same aura about it.
